Purpose of sound:

It sets the mood and atmosphere

Diegetic = sounds characters can hear

Non diegetic = sounds characters cannot hear

sound scape = all the sounds in a text

Score (music) = music composed arranged and played specifically for the production. Eg skyfall by Adele

Volume control = how loud or quiet a sound is (effect of that)

Dialogue = speech from character. Considering Language tone accent and volume.
